A few years ago, I spent over an hour searching for the answer to one technical question: how is a Matter commissioner authenticated during commissioning?

The answer existed. It was just buried in hundreds of pages of specification, scattered across documents, impossible to extract quickly.

That hour wasn't unusual. After two decades in semiconductors and deep-tech, I'd watched engineers and decision-makers lose this hour every day, searching, interpreting, cross-checking information that should have been one question away.

When generative AI matured, the opportunity was obvious. Not another chatbot. A system that actually understands technical documentation and gives reliable, domain-specific answers grounded in the sources our customers already trust.

That's why we built Understand Tech.

Together with a team of experienced engineers, we set out to do one thing: turn documentation into usable knowledge, and knowledge into decisions.
